 Synonyms & Historicals
Dioxygenases .
Non-heme iron-containing enzymes that incorporate two atoms of OXYGEN into the substrate. They are important in biosynthesis of FLAVONOIDS; GIBBERELLINS; and HYOSCYAMINE; and for degradation of AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS. .
Tryptophan Hydroxylase .
Hydroxylase, Tryptophan .
Monooxygenase, Tryptophan .
Tryptophan Monooxygenase .
An enzyme that catalyzes the hydroxylation of TRYPTOPHAN to 5-HYDROXYTRYPTOPHAN in the presence of NADPH and molecular oxygen. It is important in the biosynthesis of SEROTONIN. .
Hematinics .
Erythropoiesis Stimulating Agents .
Hematopoietic Agents .
Agents which improve the quality of the blood, increasing the hemoglobin level and the number of erythrocytes. They are used in the treatment of anemias. .
Succinic Anhydrides .
Anhydrides, Succinic .
A subclass of anhydrides with the general structure of dihydrofurandione. They can be substituted on any carbon atom. They modify and inhibit proteins and enzymes and are used in the acylation of amino- and hydroxyl groups. .
Mixed Function Oxygenases .
Mixed Function Oxidases .
Oxidases, Mixed Function .
Oxygenases, Mixed Function .
Hydroxylases .
Monooxygenases .
Widely distributed enzymes that carry out oxidation-reduction reactions in which one atom of the oxygen molecule is incorporated into the organic substrate; the other oxygen atom is reduced and combined with hydrogen ions to form water. They are also known as monooxygenases or hydroxylases. These reactions require two substrates as reductants for each of the two oxygen atoms. There are different classes of monooxygenases depending on the type of hydrogen-providing cosubstrate (COENZYMES) required in the mixed-function oxidation. .
Transferrins .
A group of iron-binding proteins that tightly bind two ferrate ions along with two carbonate ions. They are found in the bodily fluids of vertebrates where they act as transport and storage molecules for iron. .
Hemerythrin .
A non-heme iron protein consisting of eight apparently identical subunits each containing 2 iron atoms. It binds one molecule of oxygen per pair of iron atoms and functions as a respiratory protein. .
gamma-Butyrobetaine Dioxygenase .
4-Trimethylaminobutyrate, 2-Oxoglutarate Oxygen Oxidoreductase (3-Hydroxylating) .
Butyrobetaine Hydroxylase .
Trimethylaminobutyrate Hydroxylase .
gamma-Butyrobetaine Hydroxylase .

gamma Butyrobetaine,2 Oxoglutarate Dioxygenase .
An enzyme that catalyzes the HYDROXYLATION of gamma-butyrobetaine to L-CARNITINE. It is the last enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway of L-CARNITINE and is dependent on alpha-ketoglutarate; IRON; ASCORBIC ACID; and OXYGEN. .
Pneumatosis Cystoides Intestinalis .
Cystoides Intestinalis, Pneumatosis .
Intestinalis, Pneumatosis Cystoides .
A condition characterized by the presence of multiple gas-filled cysts in the intestinal wall, the submucosa and/or subserosa of the INTESTINE. The majority of the cysts are found in the JEJUNUM and the ILEUM. .
Nuclear Pore Complex Proteins .
Nucleoporin .
Nucleoporins .
